A Librarian Among Scientists & Science Educators

I had the wonderful experience of presenting to a group of scientists and science educators an overview on Philippine Children's Literature. For an hour and a half, I breezed through highlights on the development of children's literature in the country; current books in the market; values of children's literature and some "personal" tips to start the scientists and science educators writing. Below is the PowerPoint I made and used for the talk.

My presentation was followed by a workshop conducted by writers, Rhandee Garlitos and Prof. Pat Villafuerte.

Live blogging: Dr. Paraluman Giron, Filpina

This is not my first time to listen to Dr. Paraluman Giron of the DepEd, Director of Region 4-B. I have sat in one of her speeches way back in college at the PNU. She was dynamic, engaging and charming. Her content was relevant and tuned to the times. The last time I saw her was in one training workshop for public school teachers. Her message to them was truly inspirational.

She has not changed at all.

Today, she opens the creative writing workshop of PHILAAS (an association of scientist and science educators in the Philippines) and she is just a joy to watch. Her passion to reading and writing is very evident. Yan ang Pinay!
