Dementia Diaries: The Adidas Tracksuit of Kim Namjoon

Namjoon’s MV for "Groin" dropped last night. To see him wearing the Adidas ensemble brought me back to the 70s.

Papa would lace up his Adidas sneakers. In track shorts and Adidas t-shirt he would run lapses in the nearby basketball court. He did athletics back in the day. Coaching and taking on the role of referee in the Palarong Pambansa. Several times we saw him on TV. I swelled with pride for his 3 minutes of fame. His choice of sportswear was anchored on his beliefs of comfort, grit and simplicity. I plan to show him Namjoon’s video or a photo of the attire. Just so I would still know that he is the person I grew up loving. Simple. Persevering. Down to earth.

My dear, dear Dementia. You have a way of robbing from us precious core memories. But we persist.

Kim Namjoon, I owe you one, yet again.
